MMOA STUDIOS is an award-winning architecture studio based in Seoul. Their principles revolve around the ambiguity and uncertainty of design boundaries and the creation of space to bring together designers from various fields in their projects. This is reflected in their name MMOA, which originated from the Korean word [moho∙hada] – to be ambiguous.
To visualize these values, we decided to create a dynamic grid system. This is meant to demonstrate the principle of creating space and flexibility within boundaries. This grid was also expanded into a logo system and applied to all other formats and applications. We chose TWK Lausanne as the house typeface. Noto Sans Kr is used for all Korean copy and pairs seamlessly with the selected English typeface.
